NG1 Technologies Wins People’s Choice Award at Cleantech Open Southeast’s Technology Exchange Showcase
Identified as Most Promising Company at Cleantech Conference in Atlanta
ATLANTA (May 13, 2016) – The Cleantech Open Southeast, a division of the world’s largest cleantech accelerator, partnered with the German Consulate General in Atlanta to host Implementing COP 21 – Energiewende on May 4 in Atlanta. Attendees at the international technology showcase exchange selected NG1 Technologies as the winner of the People’s Choice Award, identifying the cleantech solutions company as the most promising company at the conference. The event kicked off the Cleantech Open’s startup accelerator program, inviting cleantech firms, policy-makers, startup companies and academia to share ideas and support for green innovations.
NG1 Technologies is a Cleantech Open Southeast alumnus and winner of the 2014 Cleantech Open national prize. The company’s signature product, NG1 TechFlo Exhaust, has proven fuel savings of an average of 10 percent on diesel engines, while also reducing emissions, noise pollution and extending engine life. Chief Technology Officer Dustin Nord spoke at Implementing COP 21 – Energiewende regarding the company’s product and the importance of uniting the southeast cleantech community, along with other leaders and Cleantech Open alumni such as Innovasan, Smart Charge Light, and Tethis.
“It is an ongoing priority for our company to support the initiatives of Cleantech Open Southeast as an alumnus,” says Dustin Nord, CTO of NG1 Technologies. “There is an opportunity for the southeast, specifically Atlanta, to establish itself as a community that fosters solutions for today’s urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges. Cleantech Open Southeast and the German Consulate General brought a number of industry experts together to exchange ideas among the cleantech community during the conference, and we hope more companies will join our efforts.”
Organized by Cleantech Open Ambassador-at-Large Troy Von Ottnot, the conference was held at the Georgia Tech Resarch Institute Conference Center. The German Consulate General participated, sharing information about Germany’s ‘Energy Transition’ that is currently underway, shifting the country’s energy portfolio to one dominated by renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development. Detlev Ruenger, German Consul General in Atlanta, discussed how this plan could benefit other countries to better global energy usage. In addition, Cleantech Open’s Chairman of the Board presented, emphasizing the value of supporting cleantech entrepreneurialism and thanking the Atlanta community for its support of Cleantech Open.
NG1 TechFlo Exhaust is currently available as a retrofit exhaust system for Class 8 diesel trucks, but was recently proven to provide the same fuel and emissions benefits when applied to agriculture equipment and generators. The company is strategically exploring a number of industry applications for the advanced technology.
